Boxfish ROV – inspection and expeditionary class ROV

The Boxfish ROV is an industry leading observation class ROV with intelligent fault-tolerant design which provides 4K live video from depths of up to 1,000 meters, capable for heavy current operation with precise positioning at any angle.

At just 23kg, it is easy to launch and recover by hand. Its uncompressed 4K main camera is complemented by two additional built-in ultra-wide-angle navigation cameras, offering unprecedented surround visibility and giving the pilot excellent situational awareness. This, coupled with the auto-stabilisation system and pilot assist features, make piloting the Boxfish ROV a breeze.

The Boxfish ROV has a fault-tolerant design allowing it to continue to operate with several fouled thrusters. Additionally, if communication is lost, the ROV will automatically return to the surface under its own power.


ROV accessories and sensors

The Boxfish ROV platform has flexible design and can be easily custom configured with multibeam imaging sonar, manipulator/grabber, altimeter, USBL, 3D mapping, laser scaler and much more.

Our R&D team developed a number of useful ROV accessories including stereo cameras, surfaced cameras and power packs. In addition, we offer a number of reliable 3rd party accessories, which were thoroughly chosen, tested, and integrated to make sure you get the maximum performance out of your ROV configuration.

We offer accessories that are suitable to use up to 1,000 meters and can be mounted on any Boxfish ROV model.


Boxfish Luna – professional cinematography underwater drone

The Boxfish Luna is our next generation, underwater drone for professional cinematographers and natural history filmmakers and provides both a stable filming platform and real-time monitoring of production quality video. With reliably clean and natural imagery and quick deployment in any situation, filmmakers can fully concentrate on the shoot.

With precise, remotely operated controls, there is no human disturbance of wildlife behaviour, no need for additional divers or navigating cumbersome H&S regulations. Additionally, the Boxfish Luna opens up new movements and perspectives, makes it possible to reach depths inaccessible to divers and allows access to remote locations. 

 The Boxfish Luna captures up to 8K video and 50MP stills up to 1,000 metres underwater. With precision zoom control as well as shutter speed, aperture, focus, white balance, ISO and exposure mode directly accessible from the control station, the Boxfish Luna offers full creative control.


Boxfish 360 – professional underwater 360VR camera

The Boxfish 360 designed specifically for the needs of cinematographers, scientists and explorers, it records fully spherical 5K video and raw images as well as important dive information including depth, temperature and orientation.

The Boxfish 360 allows full manual control of shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance —all fully adjustable, and the ability to seamlessly stitch the video without blank zones for true immerse VR experience up to 1000 meters.

The Boxfish 360 is easy to use. It does not require any tools to set up, and its cameras always stay fixed in the housing during charging, file retrieval and setting adjustment.

ARV-i – Autonomous underwater resident vehicle

ARV-i, designed by Boxfish Research and powered by Transmark SubSea, is an innovative autonomous underwater resident vehicle for continuous monitoring of underwater assets. It excels at automated and remote inspection of offshore energy installations, offshore oil and gas platforms, offshore wind farms and offshore aquaculture plants.

ARV-i is an entirely new class of autonomous vehicle, providing its customers with a range of operational configurations. The vehicle is designed to operate without a tether connection to the surface, but tethered options are available for customers who require superior video quality – a tethered solution is the best option to access the uncompressed 4K video stream or transmit data from ARV-I at higher rates.  

Applications for ARV-i abound in offshore industries that require underwater observation and inspection, including energy, oil and gas, wind farms and aquaculture.
