LA MINA – The Discovery of more than 10,000 years old cave
Boxfish 360 has been featured in the recent LA MINA – The Discovery by El Centro Investigador del Sistema Acuífero de Quintana Roo (CINDAQ) and INAH Arqueología Subacuática Península de Yucatán – a short video about a modern underwater cave discovery!
According to the experts from INAH Arqueología Subacuática Península de Yucatán (Underwater Archaeology National Institute of Anthropology and History – INAH) and El Centro Investigador del Sistema Acuífero de Quintana Roo… (CINDAQ), the evidence of prehistoric mining activities found by the divers this year in LA MINA back between 12,000 and 10,000 years before present making it the oldest known cave in America!
We are honestly proud to be invited to take part in this project and deliver our technology to help the divers to give virtual access to the caves for archaeologists and to stay connected with a wider audience!
